hello everyone,

I recently purchased my 2017 Tacoma and wanted to know the best tire size I could run without any trimming of sort. I’m in the process of purchasing a set of TRD wheels 17 inch with 35s. I know I won’t be able to run those specific tires.

Another question for y’all, for leveling kits or lift kits what would u recommend and isn’t too expensive; and would you recommend I go to a dealership to get it installed?

Welcome,
You’ll need to lift it to run 35s, or trim the crap out of it.
35s you’ll want a 6 inch lift. 4 inch with minimal trimming. Or 3 inch with some trimming, there’s a guy on YouTube with that setup. So you can see what you need to do to make it work.
If you do a 6 inch you could go with BDS which last time I checked wasn’t to bad budget wise,
Or rough country for the cheapest I know of, whether they’re good or not is beyond me.
But I hope I helped some...

Welcome to the forum. Ditch the 35’s they will be more money on mods then they are worth.
What’s not to expensive for a lift?
What’s your usage going to be?
Off-road often?
You can fit 265/70/17 without issue on those wheels.
What offset are they?

Offset makes a difference,
When I was running oem wheels and upgraded to 265/70/17 it was fine.
As soon a I put my pro-comps with -6 offset it rubbed like crazy.

Thanks everyone!!!!!

I’m running the 265/70/17 on some 17” TRD WHEELS... (+4 offset)

Now that I’ve driven about 800 miles on my Taco, I want to upgrade to a level or lift; may 3 inches..

Any brand y’all would consider on the level/lift and with a 3” lift what tire size could I run without cutting and rubbing? I’m gonna keep my 17” wheels and want beefy look. Thank in advance to all who send their input!!

What’s your budget on the lift? You can run 275/70/17

Have a link to the product you’re talking about? I’ve checked out the bilstein website with other websites I ain’t too sure about them.

I run them,
A lot of other guys run them, they’re proven, great, and inexpensive.
I’ve never heard bad things about them, I also have a Deaver AAL in the rear.
I bought my billies from 4 wheel parts.
And the AAL from a local mom and pops shop.
Total in parts and labor was $850

I plan on ordering a set of Falken wildpeaks at3w 285/70/17 in the next couple months. I’ve ran the same brand 265/70/17s for almost 2 yrs now and absolutely love them, also a lot of guys here that run them.
I’m planning on purchasing the next set through amazon as it appears to be cheaper then anywhere else and you can purchase insurance through them.

Thanks man!

I’m gonna look into both more. With your background of knowledge in this type of stuff which would you prefer?
I’ve never seen the sport ones.

It depends on what your use is and if you’re going to have constant weight on the truck ie bumpers, winch etc.
