Ride quality of Off-road vs Limited

I am looking to purchase a new (or new/used 2017+ tacoma). Probably new 2018 or 2019. I test drove a TRD Sport and will be going back to test drive the Off Road. The dealer has one 2018 Limited in stock on the show room floor so I have not driven that.

Around town and on the highway what will be the differences in ride quality between the Off Road and the Limited. On the highway will the Off road feel floaty? I like the painted fenders of the limited but I prefer the Off Road front end without the lower body panels under the bumper. A must have for me is Heated seats and technology. I like the idea of having more toys to play with on the Off Road. I may even get into trail riding with this purchase.

Another motivation with this purchase is to replace my 2004 BMW 330i to get a little more room and 4x4. Anybody know the width of the back seat in the double cab? My BMW is 52 inches wide from side bolster to side bolster. I need a little more comfort when I have to haul 3 kids around some times.

Welcome to the forum. I personally would go with the off-road. You can always upgrade suspension on any of them but you can’t get some of the other off road features on any of them.

I think this is the demensions in the back
Head room 38.3”
Hip room 56.3”
Leg room 32.6”
Shoulder room 58.9”

Suspension seems relative to me. Some feel the Sport is harsh but coming form a GTI I though it was pretty plush and the OR mushy. The air-dam is removable...
If going double-cab, I'd go OR.

Thanks for the dimensions! That is very helpful. I like the looks of the off-road better overall. Do the stock tires get pretty loud on the highway? Not that big of a deal because they will have to be changed many times over the life of the truck but just curious.

You’re welcome. I’d get the OR ask for pro taillights in negotiation
Stock wranglers I had are ok tires. (That can vary depending on region) Not loud. Not great for OR. If you’re going to swap them I suggest doing it within 999 miles or run them 40k. Any more than 999 miles tire resale value is poo!
Post pictures when you take delivery.
