Hi everyone, new to the site, have a 96 Tacoma .

Trying to figure out where I start my truck up in the morning it taps for a short period of time then it stops!
I’m trying to figure out what you’re saying or asking.
When you try to start it in the morning it won’t stay running?

It stay running.but it makes a tapping noise for a little while when I first start it up an as it run the noise stops. I tried Lucos Oil dont know what else to do.

Is it running ruff or just taco ticking? Have many miles are on it?

It could be a number of things that cause noise that will go away after an engine warms up:
1.) Combustion chamber carbon build up causing contact and a ticking noise.
2.)Piston Slap against the cylinder wall that goes away after the motor warms up.
3.)Valve train noise coming from the top of the block that can be eliminated with a valve adjustment.
All of these are common issues in a motor as it gets some age and wear on it. I’d let it warm up a little longer and just take it easy as long as it’s running okay.
You can try using some Sea Foam to clean out some of the carbon out of the combustion chambers. That may eliminate it.
It can also be the “taco tick”. All the motors from the 22R up have done it. It’s a little annoying but all Toyota engines run forever.
