Relationships

Seems that with Valentine's day coming up soon, it would be interesting to start a conversation on anything to do with relationships.
Maybe what you're doing for your sweetheart, maybe you plan to dump someone tomorrow so you don't have to buy flowers or a gift lol.
Or maybe you are single, and have questions or advice about anything from dating sites, to the local cashier at the grocery store you are secretly in love with.

I'm single, was married and very much in love once. She passed away, and while I go on first dates, they rarely turn into second dates, because the woman just doesn't interest me. That being said I do really enjoy time with a friend who I hang out with a LOT.
I've been considering telling her on Valentine's day how I feel, but am concerned that it could potentially harm the friendship, and she has been my very best friend for the last few years.
So maybe I will flip a coin, heads I tell her, tails I keep my mouth shut. There is no right answer, in fact it isn't really a question.
Just throwing out a topic with no direction at all, to chat about anything.

Well I sent a candy gram to her work place today. Asked her to come for dinner tomorrow night ( she eats at my house 3 to 5 nights a week usually ) for Valentine's day as an official date. She called me all excited and yelled yes yes yes into the phone! So apparently she has hoped I would ask, but had considered asking me about a relationship many times, was worried about me saying no it potentially destroying our friendship.

Congrats BC! Make her happy my friend!

I decided to ask my best female friend out. To make it worse, I worked with her. Imagine a slow motion train wreck.
Except that didn’t happen. We celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in April.
You only go around once in life. You want to spend it asking yourself “what if?”

My 2¢.

You guys are absolutely the best!!! Very touching words and spoken straight from the heart. I was very moved by each of your posts. That kind of sincerity brings smiles and warm heartedness to all. I am so proud to be a member of the family.

Congratulations!
What a great story.

I met this lady through a mutual friend a few years ago.
I was having some people over to spend the day out on my boat with me. My friend called that morning and asked if she could bring her friend along, of course I said yes. Well we hit it off well immediately, and she has become my very best friend. The age gap between us was a concern, I don't want to be the creepy old man, and besides she is incredibly beautiful, smart, and funny...way out of my league.
So glad that she likes me as more than a friend also, and she said age doesn't matter at all to her. She likes that I am mature and have my **** together.

My wife was wearing braces when I met her. Became friends because that cute lil gal was a kid and I was 40 and divorced. I looked at her as a friend only. Only later I found out she was 32 not 22 and in braces because she always wanted straighter teeth and could afford it. 8 years difference is better than 18 but she didn’t seem to care either way. Her mother, however, took a lil persuading. [emoji6]

My wife is 10 years my junior. We met in the Air Force. She knew I was getting a divorce and moving to Texas. She got out of the Air Force and sent me a letter through a mutual friend. We only dated for a week or so before we got hitched. 26 wonderful years later and I'm still madly in love with her.

P.S. We got married 30 days after my divorce was finalized.

While many may disagree, I have always believed in love at first sight and your nice story reinforces my belief. What a great love story Scott! You shared an instant mutual attraction when your eyes set upon each other and fell in love at that moment. I think it is wonderful that you acted on it immediately and that the romance and passion has continued to blossom into a long, loving relationship that still shines today. Nice! :) Happy Valentine's Day to a wonderful couple.
