Wandering/Swaying

I have a 08 crew cab TRD OFF ROAD Toyota Tacoma.... its wanders, sways while driving down the road? Feels like it's going down the road sideways or as if a wheel is lose? I've checked lugs, front end, etc and can't find anything out of the ordinary? It also has like a high pitch whining noise also? Any help would be much appreciated.

It’s got 174,000 miles on it.. I’ve never done anything to it but change oil, filters, and a couple of front wheel bearings

Did you just get the truck and it feels this way or have you had it for a while and noticed a change?

Ball joints or wheel bearings may be to blame.
It could also be a steering component or suspension issue. What you’ve described sounds more like it’s a steering component issue to me.
If it’s that symptomatic it could honestly be dangerous to drive, especially at highway speeds.

I would try an alignment and balance the wheels.

Shock absorbers might be contributing to the problem. I changed mine on my 07 Tundra and it made a tremendous difference. At this mileage they should be changed.

I agree. Had a wheel bearing issue that sounds similar....
