What have you done to your Tacoma today?

I've toyed with doing that to mine. Did you do yours for aero, looks or clearance?

11 months old and 25,000 miles

I’m close to 6k on my 7 month old ‘19 SR5 truck. Sucks that it’s sat most of the time this spring. I’ve had no real issues with mine but there are a couple of things that could have been better designed. Stuff like the climate control knobs take a long look to see where they are set. Or, the...

What did you do with your Taco today

The multi-screen setup is only for trips and trails. They all sit below the dash except for the GPS but even that sits below the hood line. More visibility than when I used to stick it to the windscreen with the suction cup mount. The mounting system is very solid and even with a 10’5” iPad...

What did you do with your Taco today

I finished the cargo platform for the back of my Access Cab SR5. Last week, I did the TPAM installation.

    Wheel spacers!!!

It’s amazing how big a change such a small item can make. Looks great.

    CarPlay

I was looking at 2020 Tacoma’s and see that they seem to be CarPlay an Android Auto compatible across the board. Anyone know if the head units would drop into a 2019 or earlier? If so, I’ll keep my eye open for one out of a salvage over the next couple of years.

    Entune is garbage

What we are witnessing is happening in many industries. Companies want to be innovative and are in a constant rush to add technology that is not well developed. They don’t want to pay licensing fees to add tech that was developed by other companies that have been doing that type of work for...

What did you do with your Taco today

I just got a TPAM in the mail last night so that will go in this week. Over the weekend, I installed an aux fuse block next to the factory block under the dash and this will be where the TPAM, dashcam and V1 plug into. I’m also nearing completion on the cargo deck for the back of the cab...

    Newbie

Congrats and welcome to the forum. I did the same last fall when I traded my F150 for an SR5 4x4 Access cab in quicksand. Best thing I’ve done in a long time in regards to trucks.

3Gen shift points change in S?

I’ve been playing around with running ECT, then clicking over to S5. I’m not sure, but it feels like that’s just adding 5th to ECT as the shifting does not seem to change from running in ECT while in drive. Nothing closely monitored or recorded though, but that’s kind of what it feels like...

    Rear bumper blackout

Same here. Low of 11 here tonight, so I’m not going to be painting anything this weekend.

2017 Tacoma jerky and sporadic shifting.

The shifting issue does get tiresome. Mine is a 2019 SR5 and it aggressively looks to upshift at any hint of easing on the throttle. I did see the OrangeVirus ECU flash speaks to remapping the shift points. Anyone give this a try? It’s $699 though and I’m guessing, not warranty friendly.

    Glovebox inserts

    Nice touch.

    Less than poor fuel mileage

I’m at about 3500 miles on my 2019 SR5 and seem to average about 20.8 combined. I can get around 25 if I’m careful on uncontested back roads. What pressures are you running in the tires?
