My 2008 is in right now for a frame replacement, gave me a Prius as loaner, have been enjoying the MPG but miss my truck, will be ready in a couple of days though!

Mine is a 2008.

I decided to go the truck camper route instead, don't need a lot of room. Camper is made for mid size trucks, weighs in at 1100 pounds empty, well within payload capacity.

I have an 2008 Reg Cab 4x4 that is in getting its frame replaced, I have had no issues with the truck at all and was very surprised when it failed the frame inspection. I too thought it was just a 1st gen problem. I live in MI, maybe it is just regional now.

I use mine for camping also. The Taco is great!
