I am a nerd and actually read the manual. I run it 10 miles a month to keep the mechanisms all working just for maintenance. Never know when you might need it.
I rarely go off-road for just for fun. I just need 4wd for that occasional muddy field parking while dirt biking.
I disagree with the axle wrap idea here. My 2017 does the same. I say it is the transmission. But it usually happens to me only when cold. I have started shifting to neutral for the first 5 stops and it doesn’t give that bump. Try it.
Also decelerating really really slowly helps also...
Update::. The whine is back in my rear diff. After replacement.. about 1000 miles and it is whining as loud as ever. I will say the transmission is shifting like a normal truck and not as frustrating as before. Maybe they did a trans update while they replaced the rear diff. Maybe I...

Update: Below are part numbers from Toyota in case you break what I did.

90189-06227- D145 Grommet. This is the green plug in the door that the 10mm bolt holding the speaker...
I just finished this tonight myself. Suburu speakers and the Kicker suggestions in the thread above etc. It definitely sounds much better. I think if you are on a budget, you might try the tweeters first and see how you like it. Someone on one of these threads said "you have to crank...
