I wouldn't use any oil based filters in anything that has a sensor that could get fouled because of over oiling. A dry base filter is the way to go.
Also, paper or not surface area on the filter is everything. Doesn't matter if your talking about your car or motorcycle or even the hot air...
Lol. Right. I'm thinking Im going to just order the afe cai and measure myself to see if i can put a powercore in. The afe cai si has a 5.5 flange 7 base 5.5 top and 6 high. The powercore chart says it has one thats pretty much that size but its 7 high instead.
This is volant's web page with the different sizes http://www.volant.com/filters.asp?filterType=powercore. I know autoanything has the same thing but i don't remember seeing the sizes listed. I really like afe cai which I have my mind set on that one unless other wise swayed. I just got there...

I'm looking to install a cai and saw that volant has the powercore filters from Donaldson. I know Donaldson makes a ton of different air filters for all kinds of things and have proven its extremely clean with high flow. What I'm asking is does anyone have one and what do they think. I have a...
I just installed a 3" AFE cat back. So far i like it but i just installed it today. I'll have to let you know in a couple of days of my over all feelings.
Ok, I have my 3" SS AFE exhaust mounted and it looks cool anyways. It took a little bit longer than a hour thanks to nice rusty flange bolts. Kind of surprised me since it is only a 2010.
I started off by driving my truck up on ramps. You'll need that extra room to pull out the old...
Just got my AFE exhaust in the mail today. I'm sure you all can guess what I'm doing this weekend here in good old PA. I opened up the package and started drooling at 3" of SS bliss.
