On my 04 Tacoma I used regular dino oil and changed it every 3300 miles - no problems when I sold it @ 115k miles. If you want longer change intervals go syn.

Finally made appointment and got recall done this morning. All is good!

I believe its the smog purge valve release - Normal.

I posted this and then forgot all about this recall. Need to get it done so I can mark it off the list.

Just checking to see if anyone else has received a recall notice? Certain 2012-2013 Tacoma & 2012 RAV4 vehicles for Brake Actuator Reprograming. I don't consider it to be to big an issue since it just involves a software update. Will call dealer and make the appointment in the next few weeks.

Batteries are kind of unpredictable. Sometimes they will show signs of taking a dump and others not signs at all. My '04 Taco that I sold last December still had the original battery! I hope to get that kind of life out of my '13.

That's for sure. My sales guy was clueless.

My '04 never used a drop between oil changes for the eight years I owned it. My '13 same way. That's why I love the Toyota engines - no leaks or burning oil for me.

No starter issues on my last few Toyotas. My last one (2004) had 109k when I sold it and it still had the original battery & belts.

I do all the standard maintenance myself. Don't really trust the dealers.

Just signed up and ready to check out some posts. Own a 2013 DC 4x4 that I purchased last December. If my memory is correct this is my 4th Toyota. I will post some pics later.
