Voiding factory warranty and/or "Vehicle Service Agreement"

Fellows,

Earlier this year, I bought a brand new 2018 Tacoma TRD Sport, and a couple of weeks ago I got the 8 year/75,000 mile "Vehicle Service Agreement" offered by Toyota Financial Services, which is "sort" of an extended warranty.

I would like to replace the stock front grill with an aftermarket "TOYOTA" grill, like the one shown in the picture I inserted, then, I would use Toyota P/N 53141-35060, a sort of glass insert, to protect the TSS-P radar opening in the new grill.

However, while reading the extended warranty I purchased, I found a section called "EXCLUSIONS AND RESTRICTIONS", which, in part, reads as follows:

"Failure cause by any direct or indirect modifications or parts not authorized or supplied by the vehicle manufacturer or Administrator."

Do you guys think Toyota can use my replacing the stock front grill as an excuse to invalidate either my factory warranty or my extended "Vehicle Service Agreement"?

Thanks for any advise.

Arsene

Thanks, whippersnapper02. My concern is not that they will use the grill itself as the excuse, but rather, my relocating the TSS-P radar to said new grill, possibly claiming its performance could/had been degraded, and caused other problems. I am just being cautious here.

They could say that. Like Nancy said the parts aren’t going to cause the entire warranty to get void.
If something did accure after the grille was on you can say it’s on the pro trucks and they aren’t having this issue. If it’s truely from the parts you put on and that is the hypothetical cause of this issue then you would have to put the OEM parts back on and it would fix the issue. Right?
If the issue did not resolve itself then it’s a warranty issue not a parts issue. If they try to fight you on that call corporate start a case and Then you need to find another dealer that will work for you.
Make your truck yours and if stuff goes funky you’ve always got this forum to help you work through it. :D
Pictures when you get it installed.
Welcome to the forum.

Hey, Dawg,

I haven't bought as yet. If you go to eBay and search for the words "TRD Pro STYLE Front Bumper Grill Grille for 2016 2017 2018 2019 Toyota Tacoma" you'll find several people sell it for under 90 bucks. If you buy this, you should also buy Toyota part number 53141-35060, a small glass insert, which costs about 45 bucks, to protect the traffic-facing TSS radar. I'll be buying these items in a few weeks. I tried to enter the actual website, but the Tacoma Forum does not let me do that, don't know why.

Hope this helps

Arsene
