Lift Advice/help

Hey everyone. Been looking around at lifts, and can honestly say I've never had any experience with lifting a vehicle.

I found this lift kit that's in my price range. Can anyone explain the options for ordering as there are several. Also what size of tires do you think I can get with this kit?

The first option gives you a 1/4” spacer that sits on top of the coils in front and a block in the rear to lift it. The second option is just the front and rear suspension with no spacer or rear lift block. The third and fourth option is to add a leaf pack to the rear. If you want a lift in the rear the leaf packs are the way to go over the block.

As far as tire size you can refer to this guide.

Thank you for the info! So if I had to guess option 4 comes with the spacer in option 1, right? I would prefer to stay away from the spacer.

It’s possible but even if it comes with it you don’t have to use it. It’s a 1/4” spacer so it’s probably just there to add that little bit of lift to make it 2.75-3” so you can clear bigger tires.

I believe the spacer is to correct the drivers side lean caused by gas tank not being centered. The OME is hugely popular with taco owners but keep in mind any lift is going to affect the geometry of your CVs. And Drivers side axle needle bearing is a weak link on Tacomas

The CV issue has been the main reason I haven't done it in the past even with my 4Runner. I don't want more than 2" of lift so I figured that would be the relatively "safe" limit. I need to do more research. And obviously if anyone has had experience with the setup I'm looking at please do chime in.

That’s a solid budget friendly kit. You’d be happy with it.

Thank you! I will likely stock pile my funds so I can do everything at once. Kit, Tires, wheels, speedo kit, and other things I haven't found yet [emoji12].

Honestly I wouldn’t spend money on a speedo recalibration. 33” tires will make it off about 4 mph at 60. Anything around town is only 3mph off or less at 40. If you do the speed limit you’ll just get there a few seconds earlier. I know multiple officers and they have all said they don’t mess with people until they are 7mph over. Or if you’re doing other stupid stuff.
Pictures of your build as it happens. Have fun.
