2015 Toyota Tacoma USB Charger Not Charging

I have an iPhone X and when I plug a USB cable into the truck's USB port it doesn't connect the phone from a changing standpoint or a media standpoint. Anyone else running into this issue? Is it a USB port issue or a firmware issue? I know it isn't the cable because I use the same cable at work and it works fine.

I've heard that Apple designed their phones/chargers to be incompatible with other 'blocks' for wall plugs.
I know that a charger from the dollar store doesn't work with my iPhone SE, so my question for you is; Are you using an iPhone charger cord?

No, it is an aftermarket charging cord. It works fine in my house though. I have USB outlets in my wall.

I’ve always had this problem on my ‘15 with the USB. It’s not just with the iPhone, any powered USB device will either not always recognize or cut in and out.
Because of that, I have always relied on Bluetooth and a decent USB 3.0 adapter for the outlets, but the USB interface is nice because it picks up cover art and tends to have better sound and volume (in my truck at least).

Hmm, well if it works at home I can't see why it wouldn't work in your truck. Have another other USB powered devices? Do they work in your truck? I would think it could be a fuse.

I have a 2015 double cab 4x4 v6 with the regular entune stereo/navigation. My iPhone 8 plugged into the USB port with the ignition key turned to on charges just fine. You don't need to start the truck, just make sure the key is in the on position and your stereo will be lit. (don't turn the stereo on).
