Gas mileage

If you can't trust the truck's calculation, how can you trust the odometer?
Well the trucks calculation of total range at fill up(assuming thats what you were responding too) is basically an estimate based on previous driving conditions so it will vary.

I have 2600 miles on 2018 off Rode all factory and computer calculations says 13-14 combined.
Next Friday I have appointment for Transmission gear haunting with Dealer. Wish me good luck!:)
Love the Truck but not a big fan of Tranny.o_O

Wnen my 2018 DCLB V6 auto was new, I was getting 18.4 to 18.5 mpg, mixed driving. Now the same truck with 7K miles I'm getting 19.6-21.4 mpg driving the same roads as when it was new. The truck was bought in July 2018, so that is summer gas here. Same summer gas I'm burning in July of 2019.

The engine will break in and mileage will increase with time. Proper tire inflation (31 psi for my tires) helps. I only burn top tier gas.

How big are your tires ? I get 19 ish around town I only drive In s-mode , and I never use 6 gear .I hate how it hunts in and out of gear changes . Even on highway .Soon as I get in. I go to s-mode and it automatically goes to 4th then I just hit shifter to 5th and leave it . I never use Drive , my wife does though . I run 265-70-17 hankook.

Still on stock Firestones 245/75R16. Due for new tires around 60-65k. Even wear not quite to TWI's. I upped my tire pressure 2 psi before the trip. That was too much. On long stretches tire pressure went to 37 at one point. One morning I lowered it to 33 cold.

I just put gas in and enjoy driving it cuz I was getting 13-15 in my '03 tundra with 285-60-18 at 42 lbs. so this thing is putting a big ass smile on my face!:) Lmfao!

My 19 taco v6 with 7000 mikes on it averages 21.8 to 22.4 from tank to tank. The only time ive seen below 20 on a daily trip was if I got stuck in a drive thru too long. Top tier gas only, only mod is a k& n drop in air filter.

I get 19-20 just about every tank and doesn't matter hi way or city.

If you buy a Taco, MPG shouldn't even be a concern.

How so? My 06 GMC weighed 5200 pounds with a 5.3 HO engine, auto, 4wd and got 16-18 around town and up to 22 on my trip to WV. My 18 Tacoma 4wd V6 auto gets 14 around town and can barely top 22 if I stay out of cruise control on my WV trip. Oh, it also weighs 1100 pounds less than my GMC and is feeding 105 less cubic inches of engine (that calculates to 1/3 less cubic inches than my GMC).

Poor design on the part of Toyota.

When I had my Ram hemi I was getting 17/20 around town, got 24 on a trip to the beach. Yes, the taco does some better however shouldn't be boasted as a selling point.

"how so" what?

22.5 first full up, 22.4 second, 22.5 third. Computer says, 22.5 average mpg! Can't get closer than that! Oh yeah, two week old 2019 Limited Black Beauty.

I get 18-19
Around town usually under 45 mph .highway 21ish never do I use the cruise control I all the shifting drives me nuts

That's dam good for a Ram hemi. When I had mine I was lucky to get 17 back and forth to work and that was a 13 mile highway trip.

In my tacoma I get 22 to 25 on a 5 mile trip to work depending on traffic. I moved and traded trucks. [emoji16]
