2019 Engine Knock Noise Please Help

By definition, LSPI is detonation at low speed. The OP has the noise at idle, with zero engine load.
Idle, low speed, I don't care about how much load. The manufactures, not only toyota, know this is an issue. Oil companys are changeing their formulas trying to prevent this with different additives or the mixture of existing additives. It seems like high calcium and low moly are a contributing factor. I'm just saying if you have a noisy engine experiment some on youre own, don't just keep taking toyotas answer that thats normal or don't worry about it, if it blows warranty will cover it.

You're missing the point, I just stated that LSPI is a condition that does exist, not necessarily the problem that OP is having. Apparently it's more common than just the OP. My point is and was if youre engine is noisy and you're using oil A, try oil B and see if it changes, if youre running 87 octane try 89 or 93, see if it changes. Just doing the same thing over and over getting the same results does no good.

Aha!! My light bulb went off. Very true.

I would venture to say that if an engine were predisposed to LSPI, it would be the V6 in an automatic Tacoma. 50mph at what, 1100 rpm? Now THAT is high load under low rpm, and now thinking back, probably at least one of the reasons why Toyota has the truck downshift at the least instance of increased engine load.

I changed my oil and filter when my truck had 500 miles on it, replacing the filter with a Toyota unit and using Amsoil. HOPEFULLY it will keep LSPI at bay, along with using top tier gasoline. But hope is..well...fleeting.
