Entune question...

I just bought a 2013 tacoma and it was advertised with "Entune." It has the touch screen radio but I have not figured out how to use it to its full capabilities (eg. Apps, etc.). I can connect to bluetooth and stream music and all, but from what I was reading, I should be able to access different apps on my phone as well. I'm really thinking that it just has a touchscreen radio and doesn't have "Entune." Is there any way for me to tell? Also, it does NOT have navigation.

Did you download the Entune app on your phone? If not you need to do that first. Once you do that you should be good to go.

Yes, I did but it said my vin # was incorrect or my truck is not entune enabled. I guess my question ahod be...do you need to have navigation in order to have entune? I do NOT have navigation. Thank you for the response.

If the window sticker says you do and your having problems I would be at the dealerships door asking questions. Sorry I can't help more. Keep us posted. Good luck

I didn't buy the truck brand new. It is a used 2013. The ad said that it had Entune, but I'm not really concerned about wether or not it was false advertising or just an honest mistake. I love the truck regardless. Maybe I'm asking the wrong question. Does anyone know if it's possible to have Entune without having navigation? As stated before, I do have a factory touch screen radio. Thanks again for all the replies. Also, is there a website that allows me to enter my vin number and pull up the original window sticker for my tacoma? I know ford has a website for that but not sure if Toyota does or not. ImageUploadedByTaco Forum1408643490.392878.jpg

By the looks of your radio you don't have it. I see the audio button and the set up button. But no app button. And I'm thinking if you want Entune you will have to buy a head unit that has nav in it. I never use mine in my truck. I have the app on my phone but I don't use that much either.

Yep...that's the basic touchscreen radio. I have the same one in my 2013 AC. I've been doing a lot of research on audio expansion capabilities, but haven't seen anything about adding Entune.

You do have the "Entunes" radio. Except now every truck comes with it. How they do it now is that there are 4 levels of Entune radios. The base which I think just has bluetooth capabilities and then you have added features as you go up in levels. The apps I think are only on the top 2 levels. One of which is the navi opt.
Hope this helps.

Yes! Toyota doesn't
do it though! It may run you about $1295! I threw aftermarket in and back up camera with the tailgate pop n loc and I had all this installed for $900 and if the system you have doesn't have an input for the bak up camera then that can run you another $495 to add the camera! Here where I live C & C too shop will do it and it is all according to Toyota's standard

Did you ever figure this out? Just got a 2013 with the same issue

Totally agree, just go aftermarket. They can even integrate with steering wheel controls and obd-2 to give you all kinds of data on the display. Plus apple CarPlay or Android auto.
