Frame recall

Just wondering if anyone else has had their Tacoma called in for a frame inspection.
I haven't. But this will open up a can of worms. Lol. I have a '12 and the only recall I had checked was the TRD wheels. But I was good. It didn't apply to mine.

I had my recall done about 2 months ago. Mine was bad enough for a frame replacement. They also replaced the rear leafs, brake lines, a wiring harness, coolant, power steering fluid, brake fluid, misc. bolts and hardware. It took about a week and a half.

I've got an '05. I took mine in early November. Went to pick it up 2 days later thinking it would only require the 48 hour spray process and they told me it was bad enough that it needed a new frame. They told me at that time it would take around a month to get a frame in. They provided me with a 2015 camry to drive. I called them at the end of Nov to see how it was going with it and they then told me it was looking now at around first of Jan before they would be getting a new frame. I stopped in yesterday to check on it again, and talked to the service manager explaining to him that I need a 4x4 when the snow starts coming down because I drive back roads at 4 am to get to work. He said they don't have any that I can use for a rental, they are only allowed to rent what Toyota allows them to. He said they really have no idea when they will be receiving frames and it is now looking like it will be sometime in Feb. He said he has heard that there are over 9000 frames needed so far.
He told me I could sign a release form and have my truck back. But if something would break, I would be on the hook if I did that.
I'm fine with them taking the initiative to correct this issue, but I'm not happy about being without my truck during the winter months.

The frame delivery is out of their control. As far as the rentals, my dealer has enterprise set up right in their office. If they have 9000 frames on order they need to step up their customer service. I'd call Toyota direct.

It's Toyotas problem, they need to be accommodating. As far as what Toyota will let them rent, I call BS on that. Just my opinion.

My 2008 is in right now for a frame replacement, gave me a Prius as loaner, have been enjoying the MPG but miss my truck, will be ready in a couple of days though!

They were out of trucks and gave me my choice of a Corolla, Camry or Prius. I had never driven a hybrid car before so I thought why not? This was my choice, it is definately a change. The MPG is impressive and the hybrid drivetrain works well. It is good for a laugh, particularly here in MI where it is "buy Detroit or forever rot in hell" country.

Picked up the truck today, was missing it. Looks like I may have to adjust the helper springs as it sits higher in the back now. The dealership left the same adjustment it had when it came in but the new springs must be stiffer. I had them install some new Bilstein TRD shocks and upgraded front brakes while they where putting it back together. It rides better with the TRD shocks.
