Did my ball joint just fall off?

Just pulled out of a Walgreens drive thru in my 2000 toyota tacoma and this happened. Is this the lower ball joint? How much in repairs should I be expecting....best and worst case scenario?

Not the ball joint. That is a broke CV shaft. Not sure where you are, but in my area it would cost $300-500 to have it done.

Lower ball joint came apart. Axle is collateral damage. Might as well check other side while your at it.

That's what it looks like to me. I would also check the tie rods and tie rod ends as the one on the failure side could have gotten bent when the ball joint came apart.

If you replace the above mentioned with parts and labor $650 plus could be closer to $1000 if you replace everything that could/should be!!
