Looking for replacement

Hate to bother because I’m not an extremely active member here and typically only read the information posted here. Originally joined to ask for help for my 2015 Tacoma but later found nearly every question I had from then on had been answered so a quick search did the trick.

Anyway, I have a secondary vehicle I rack a lot of miles on. As of Wednesday morning, Bambi assured me that I’d no longer be able to drive it again and insurance has paid me for the car. I have a 60 mile drive one way and am now looking for cars that get over 30 mpg and everywhere I read seems there are mixed messages and I don’t get much help.

Could any of the knowledgeable guys here help point me in the right direction on good used cars that get 30+ mpg and are reliable? Or help point to a forum that’s active and knowledgeable with semi newer cars.

Sorry to ask here but only vehicle forum I’m a part of and this place is always informative and active. Thanks

What was the car Bambi took out? Corolla was the first car that came to my mind for commuter, reliable, used good mpg.

Nissan Altima. Altima was a good car except the paint of course. I haven’t looked into the Camry or carolla yet since they’re typically more pricey. Already having two vehicle payments totaling over 800 a month trying to just find something under 9k I can just pay cash for.

I’ll look at the Camry this weekend. Never really liked the carolla body style much but been long time since I’ve paid them any attention.

Thanks for the help.

Oh, and out of curiousity, is anything Hyundai reliable? Been viewing them, Honda Civic, Chevy Cruze, and another Altima. Not sure about Hyundai and Chevy Cruze though.

Corolla or Civic 4 banger. Commuter cars are meant to keep money in your pocket not for looks. I had a 93 Camry as my commuter which is now being used as my nieces first car.

I understand looks aren’t number one by no means but I’m not driving a Prius :)

Civic wouldn’t be bad if it’s big enough. Never been inside one myself would just have to try one out.

Thanks for all the info everyone. Appreciate you taking the time to comment! Enjoy the weekend
