    Valve cover gasket replacement parts?

Just turned 165k this morning, after life changes recently increased my monthly mileage to about 3k/month :-( There are a host of things I'm chasing down now, but I won't talk any trash about her; she's been good to me for 13+ years :) (well, and she STILL runs, just not optimally hahaha).

    Valve cover gasket replacement parts?

Well, after I get around to researching the proper method of cleaning my engine, I plan to replace my valve cover gaskets (one is visible leaking). Are there any other parts that either a) require replacement as part of the maintenance, or b) are recommended to be replaced since I'll already be...

    Moog vs. OEM

Thanks @OR17TRD, that's kind of where my mind set is. My ex used to have a '90 Chevy that I rebuilt the front end on, and the NAPA/AutoZone joints lasted only 13k, so I've always been leery of taking the cheaper way. Like you said though, if they even last a third as long, I'm still ahead, not...

    Moog vs. OEM

Thanks for the feedback. While I'd like to keep my old girl tip top, it just blew me away seeing the price differences. If the Moog pieces only last a year, then I could totally understand springing for the OEM parts. But if that isn't the case, I have a hard time justifying OEM parts at this...

    Moog vs. OEM

Recently, I decided to look into replacing my OEM sway bar links and tie rod ends. Looking on Camelback Toyota's site, each link is $130, whereas the Moog pieces are $35?? While I have no problem paying for a better performing part, I recently went to a single income household, so I'm a little...

    Matte Wheel Cleaner?

Smart... Inside of rim. LOL Note to self... (I wouldn't have thought of it... I'll try that next time I rotate the tires).

    Matte Wheel Cleaner?

Hi all, I've used Wesley's Bleech White on tires with painted wheels for years with no issues. However, I recently installed the matte TRD SEMA wheels and am leery of the Bleech White messing with the finish. What have others used that works well, while not damaging sensitive finishes? Diluted...

    Tacoma Parts Source?

Thanks @whippersnapper02! I'm not sure I ever would've found that one.

    Tacoma Parts Source?

I know that there are boat loads of parts sources for our Tacos, but was wondering... Before I bought my Taco, I drove an old VW. I used the Parts Bin website to get OEM parts for any subsystem, for GREAT prices (before they were shut down). I was wondering if there are any equivalent parts...

Why didn't I buy a DA polisher years ago?

Bought a 6" Griot's with a correcting pad and wax application pad (in addition to the usual complement of compound and wax).

Why didn't I buy a DA polisher years ago?

The Taco isn't really built at all; beyond the stereo, there are only simple visual 'enhancements' (blacked out headlight housings, '09+ tail lights, tool box, steel bed rails, steel tail gate covers, TRD Pro wheels, Magnum steps, interior LEDs, etc.).

    Chipped paint

Thanks Bogunn! Wasn't sure if there was a difference in process.

    Chipped paint

With regard to touch up paint, what would be recommended for chips to bare metal? In addition, what if said bare metal area has developed light rust? I spent years driving down a road that quarry trucks use and my front end/A-pillar/roof needs a few touch ups...

Why didn't I buy a DA polisher years ago?

So, over the past week, I've been battling the CA heat and claying/polishing my 13 year old Taco paint; it's looked like crap for years. I had kind of lost hope in it. I'm not sure why it took me so long to invest in a polisher, but boy am I regretting not doing it sooner! I don't have a pic of...

    EBC Stage 5 Kit Noise

As of this morning, all seems well. The major grind is done (thank god, that was unnerving), so I'll assume it was related to the bedding-in material taking the black coating off of the rotors. Replaced the rear drums yesterday (didn't get as far as swapping the stainless lines in though). Even...

    EBC Stage 5 Kit Noise

Your previous posts were my inspiration LOL. I ordered the switch for the ABS Kill, but haven't installed it yet. Can't wait to actually be able to stop "normally". It never really bothered me until lately, I guess I had adapted to the stock setup...

    EBC Stage 5 Kit Noise

LOLOLOL I have VERY little rice in my blood. My plain-jane 13-year-old Taco is testament to that!
