Manual trans pops out of gear.

I have a o1 Taco, std cab 4x4 w/98k miles. Within the last two months it would pop out of 4th gear while driving. Pushed the clutch in and put it back in gear. Go a few miles and it would do it again. A couple of weeks ago it started doing this in 3rd gear also. I talked to a couple of...

    New plates

How were you able to buy a Tacoma

I bought a 2001 Tacoma a couple months ago. The dealer was asking $10,900 and I got them down to $8,300. That's a lot for a 17 year old truck. But it was a one owner, 91,000 miles, no rust, new frame and was exactly what I was looking for. I'm sure it will be the last truck I buy, I'm 69...

    Deluxe trim?

LOL! They didn't give me a clock either. I've was looking for quite a while before I bought this one and saw a lot of base trucks w/bench seats. This one also has a CD player, speed control and intermittent wipers, but manual windows and mirrors.

    Deluxe trim?

My 2001 Tacoma is pretty much a standard model. But it has bucket seats and a console. I did a search on the vin. number and it shows "Deluxe trim". I looked through the brouchure for 2001 Tacomas and can't find it listed anywhere. Anyone know what this option included?

    Best looking running boards

Just a FYI, if any of you people use a High Lift jack (tractor jack), they make a tube adapter for the lift point and you can lift your truck up by the sliders.

    Best looking running boards

Just got it. Other priorities right now. Just put tire/rims on it.

    Best looking running boards

Running boards are for mall crawlers. I had White Knuckle sliders on my 07 FJ Cruiser. Heavy, 55 lbs each, but you could jack up the side of the truck on them.

    Slimline bumper

Nice bumper. How much more than stock does it weigh? I had after-market bumpers on my 07 FJ Cruiser. Thinking about them for my Taco.

    New, but old...

Thanks for the warm welcome. Having bought a 17 year old truck there are things that need attention. Although the tires have a lot of tread, they're 7 years old and there are cracks in the tread and sidewalls. It has 235/75 R15s and I see the 2001 had an option for 265/70 R16. I ordered...

    New, but old...

Recently purchased a 2001 Tacoma as my winter vehicle. I drive a Toyota MR2 Spyder, weather permitting. I think I got a pretty good deal on this Taco as it has everything I was looking for: Standard cab, short box, 4X4, 4 cyl., 5 sp manual. It was a one owner and has 91K miles. Frame was...
