2011 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner

I just bought a 2011 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner with a 4 cylinder engine. Its got 52k miles. I noticed 0-20W weight oil on cap? Why so low? How often do I change it to keep 3 year warranty valid? Can I use other oil weights?

5w30 every 5 thousand miles

A guy from work said he messed up his Camry with a 4 cyl. Running 5w.. The oil was too heavy to circulate within the motor..I think full synthetic 0w is recommended
