hello everyone I been lurking on the forum for a while and I want to know what you guys think about this Tacoma. I talked the dealer down to 19.1k OTD 2014 with 88xxx miles. I will try to talk them down to 18k when I go see the car. I am planning on buying the truck Saturday if everything looks good. My budget is 20k. Thank for you time. Also is there a way to see what kind of trim is the truck from the VIN number ?

It's really hard to put a price on a pre-owned truck no matter the brand. If you live in an area where trucks are in high demand they will cost more, and the reverse is the the opposite. Pre-owned Tacomas are quite high in my area of the southeast. I really boils down to the shape of the truck, number of owners, and repairs records of the truck. If you're buying for a Toyota dealer ask them to show you the maintenance records. if the truck had any serious repairs at any Toyota dealer it will be in their computer. If it's from a used car dealer ask for the CarFax. CarFax isn't the be all, end all as it's only as good as the dealers that report to them, but it can help. I use say if the truck has been well cared for, hasn't had any serious problems, and it's "the truck" for you, then jump on it. And, you're correct, any advertised price is just a starting point for the final price. Good luck, I hope it all works in your favor.

Also be sure to crawl under it and inspect the frame for rust and signs of someone trying to cover it up.

In the North Texas area we found the price you noted out the door for a Prerunner 4.0 V6 is considered a good price. The used Tacos around here go very fast even if over 100k. When my son and I were looking we had several Tacos sell before we could even get to the dealer (usually listed for 1 to 2 days at most) to see them with that mileage and higher at prices between $18k and $20k (not out the door).

The one your showing even has the canopy on the back as well. If not desired you could sell and recouped even more possibly.

That's my 2 cents.

Currently testing driving the car I pull over at a Walmart parking lot and I notice when i turn off the engine it make like a swooshing noise like air is being suck in through the in take. Is there normal on a 2014 ?

That most likely is the standard air system cleaner whosh after shutting it off(not sure of the official name but my son and I went through that question)...we bought a 2014 with under 100k as well. So far we love it.
