Towing with a 4 cylinder engine

I just got a 4 cylinder prerunner and I was wondering how much it can tow?

I think it's rated around 3500 pounds.

Mine will haul a load of mulch or dirt with no difficulty.

In the past year I've helped my son move his things from central Texas to Denver and then from Denver back to central Texas. Rented U-Haul trailers both times. Trailers weigh just under 1000 pounds empty and I figure about 1200 pounds or so in the trailer. Wouldn't want to do it on a regular basis, but the truck handled it really well.

What would you think a small fishing boat would weigh+trailer?

You'll be fine towing a boat, I tow my bass boat all the time.
