Truck guns. Let’s make some liberals cry and talk hardware. I’d like to add a rifle to mine, but I am still researching ways to secure it. What do you guys keep in your Taco (Rifles or Handguns), and how are you securing them?

I keep a handgun in my center console.......sometimes another in the glove box........AR across the back seat and my Remington 700 on the rear floor. Mind you not all are in the Taco all the time.....I do carry every day with one in the console. Extra mags are in there also.

NICE! I think in a time when maniacs are shooting up schools and grocery stores it’s best for good men to be ready to stop these assholes if they’re close to the scene. Sounds like you are!
I wish it were that simple here. Cops frown on you if carrying. They want that left to them. At any rate my handgun, and other firearms stays locked in a safe, and gun cabinet inside my home. Displaying a rifle, or shotgun in a truck is a sure way to be pulled over.

You can buy most of that stuff here also as long as you have a state permit. Its getting the permit that can be an issue. Personally think Anyone,any state..without a Criminal Record should be able legally get a gun, through state mandates,,get trained,,have yearly certification paperwork to be able to carry for your own Protection (2nd Amendment).
Exactly, i had take a gun course before even being allowed to apply for a handgun permit. Already had a hunting license from taking a gun course decades before, but that wasn't good enough. Cops in our city just want to make it real hard, so by the time the application has to be sent in, most that applied will have given up out of frustration. Sometime's you need to threaten them with a lawsuit your rights are being denied.

I'm in connecticut. Ever since the sandy hook mass shooting, its gotten very hard to get a pistol permit, plus its very expensive. Your suppose to know within a couple months if your application has been approved. 3 months went by, and i heard nothing. I later found out the local police didn't even send the application in...the paper work was swept under their desk. When i ask what the holdup was nobody knew anything. That's when i hired a lawyer to look into it. Within 3 weeks i got my permit.
For literally decades I carried an AR-7 in my Jeep whenever I went off road. Then came the day when three nefarious types expressed a desire to take my Jeep from me. I discouraged them with the little AR but that .22 lr felt awfully small. I went in search of something that was still compact but had a bigger hole in the barrel. The answer was sitting in my safe. My very first shotgun was a MOssberg 500 in .410. To make it more compact I shortened the barrel to 18.5 inches and installed a youth buttstock. Broken down it's not much longer than the AR-7. But with a combination of shot sizes and for two legged critters slugs it is much more effective.
For comparison.
Then recoil pad is held on by industrial velcro. The stock bolt was extended and butterflied so that no tools are need to assemble it. Assembly time is essentially the same as the AR. But it doesn't float, so the AR still goes on boats with me.
I liked the idea so much I did something similar to a 20 ga Franchi 48. It's now my Tacoma gun. Same deal on ammo, but obviously the larger slugs are even beter for two legged critters. #4 buck would be very effective as well.

In Texas you don't need a license to carry canceled. If you are over the age of 21 and not a felon, you are good to go.
In connecticut your treated like a felon when applying for a permit to carry. Gotta be over 21 to.
