I see your still wrapped up in the fact that you looked rather foolish by pretending to know something you didn’t. You’re hoping if you cling to “dampening” long enough, it will overshadow the importance of the major attributes you failed to know. But now that you’re showing your age it explains...
I obviously touched a tender spot. Don't worry, no one is expected to be an authority on everything. Not you and certainly not me. But I can tell you with confidence that if you insist on preaching negativity at every opportunity, it's your choice and a you will be confronted from time to time...
No offence and I mean that, but I have to call bs on that. Trucks were made for hauling and that's what true truck people do with them. Many more people these days are dressing them up in cute outfits and hauling nothing but kids and groceries, but to some of us a truck has always been the first...
Physically driving it (not just around the block) can be most revealing and carry a tape measure for some wheel base measurements as well as ground clearance comparisons. Personally I would be most concerned with drive train irregularities, hence the nice long drive.
Generally there's a method to cancel registration on a site where registration is required for whatever reason. No offense to the site. It's simply good practice.
Good to know. Thanks.
I asked the question because my research was fruitless so far, as I did mention. However my effort to find answers continued after the fact. Did I break protocol?
I detect sarcasm.
It would appear you took that the wrong way or didn't understand the question. Let me see if I can rephrase a bit. I didn't say the 5100's valving has nothing to do with the 5100's function or that it doesn't work(by the way, does it know where your preload is set?). Nor did I...
Your comments make much better sense to me after having read the article. Thanks. Like most things, it's not so complicated. It never hurts crawling under there either.
To whom it may concern. Well I found a great write-up on the Bilstein 5100 in relation to spacers, shock extenders and the use of different bump stops. It was well written for what it is. (Exaggeration alert) including 27 8x10 color glossies with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of...
Valving? Who's to say some other non-adjustable shock absorber can't employ equivalent valving? In which case as far as preload is concerned, I fail to see how the truck knows the difference between being preloaded by a spacer rather than by an adjustable plate. Again, I'm just trying to get a...
This is what I'm looking at so far, hopefully I wont need more than this:
Bilstein 5100 0" to 2.5" Adjustable Ft shock ......1 pair = $175
OME 1.5" lift Coil Springs...................................1 pair = $170
Wheelers 2" AAL................................................1 pair = $77
Tuff...
