The BS Thread To Rule Them All!!!

I gotta get a kick out of these gen1 tacoma guys on tw...seems misery loves company. Just read where one guy spend $25k repairing theirs, not to mention thousands others have spent to keep their's running. Don't they realize they still have an old truck thats only going to cost them more every time something chits the bed. Some could have had a nice newer truck by now, not to mention more reliable, not having to worry whats going to crap out next.

Newer trucks are Not more reliable this is a fact
What is the cost of new truck OTD
What is the cents per mile to compare

Idk, I've been very happy the last 6 years with the reliability on my gen3, plus if I ever sold it, its resale is worth way more than you'll get on those old gen1's, unless you find someone dumb enough with deep pockets. Imo, it makes no sense spending the amount of money that those tw gen1 guys do seeing they will never get close to any return on it. There's an old saying....stupid is what stupid does.

My tundra was a gas hog with several major issues needing attention at close to 300k miles. I had already dumped well over a couple thou in maintenance over the 19 years having it. At the time I sold it the truck it needed as much as it was worth. There comes a time you gotta cut your loss's, and move on before it becomes a boat anchor tied to you.

How many cents per mile
I think this '97 currently is 20c per mile or so for a rough calculation
That Includes purchase OTD minus fuel minus insurance minus registration fees

Is 20c per mile believable or unbelievable

? how am i not even close?

how about some applied mathematics for illustration

370000 miles
x .20
= 74000
- 27000 PP
= 47000

have i porked out more or less than $47000 in routine maintenance + repairs over 29 years

here is 25 cents per mile

370000 miles
x .25
= 92500
- 27000 PP
= 65500

don't really think i have porked out 65500$ on maintenance + repairs over 29 years

do these number look believable or unbelievable to you

about 4000$ is just on tires alone lol

Are you not forgetting every drop of fuel that truck burnt, not to mention all other repair expenses in replaced parts, or the expenses to use it like tax's, registration, insurances you obviously won't account for.....WOOPS
