2017 Tacomas - made in Mexico vs Texas

Where did u get the taco sauce decal that's beautiful! I got me one of them there Baja tacos "tomato orange" as my wife calls it lol

So there is no correlation between mfg plant and the issues some taco owners are experiencing? I would like to see the data.

It’s not a question of racism but more a question of control of quality in the assembly line. I remember when Volkswagen where made in Mexico for the first years the had a lot of problems. Can’t remember if they moved the production or not though.
Like the VW sprinter no one's heard of....trash.

I posted this because I came across an article last night. “Will 2017 Toyota Tacoma Being Mexican-made Matter to Buyers”
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.to...a-tacoma-being-mexican-made-matter-buyers/amp
I don't think most people would know or even care, I once saw an argument on YouTube comments about a guy that refused to drive a Japanese truck and that trucks should be American yada yada. Then 20 people schooled him on how Tacomas we're being built in Texas. I think it would be cool not because of "Mi RAZA HOMES" but because maybe for the ones who get to experience them could possibly change their perspectives on quality seeing it as still and overall great truck.

My 2017 was made in Baja Cali, Mexico as well. My parents were gung ho about buying American made products for many years. I drove Dodge & Ford trucks in college & grad school. I eventually switched to Toyota in 2012 (drove a RAV4 until last week). My dad gave me a hard time at first for buying a Japanese car... Now all 3 of us, my parents & I, drive Toyota vehicles :-D

That’s known to happen. Welcome to the forum.

I sell Freightliner trucks. We have 2 plants in Mexico. They have the highest QC among all our plants.

Before anyone goes off, they are also our newest and most advanced factories. Also, all our plants are within .4% of each other. So I tell my customers it doesn't matter where their truck(s) come from.

I recently bought a 2018 TRD sport in the Atlanta area, I specifically wanted one made in america but that was only because it was going to be exported to the US Virgin Islands and if it was made outside the US then the local government would charge me additional custom fees.

That makes since.

My last Tacoma was made in Texas, no issues at all except a blown rear speaker that was replaced no questions asked within 15 minutes once dealer got new one! My new Tacoma is made in Mexico, Hopefully it's as dependable as my last truck! I have to admit,it was nice to say my truck was made in America! As long as it's dependable, it really don't matter I guess. Not that it matters, but, does anyone know which plant is newer, I'm thinking the Mexico plant, but I'm not sure. I think I read somewhere that the Mexican plant got some type of award, not sure if that's true or not.

I like the Aroma of New truck smell & A good Burrito ! They should make make the White House smell like Burritos ! Viva La Trumpo !
