I was wondering if 17" alloys would work on my 2017 SR5? My son is upgrading the wheel and tires on his 2021 TRD Sport. He offered to give me his 17" factory alloys.
Just had my done at the local Toyota dealer on my 2017 Tacoma. I did not receive a letter, the dealer advised me about the recall when I had them take care of a small issue with my truck.
The only issue I have had after the plug change is my traction control and check engine light have came on. Just went out before I got the truck to the dealer. I am guessing it's some bad gas? or the cap was not on tight.
Check engine light and traction control came on again.... drove it Sunday and it went off??? Local Toyota dealer did not find any codes (2nd time)?? I'm guessing it could be gas/gas cap?
Took it to the dealer and they could not find the problem. I did add gas the day before. So. I am thinking poor gas or gas cap. Seems to be running fine and has not had the CEL come back on.
I had my sparkplugs replaced about 5000 miles ago and cold weather just started here in NE Pennsylvania. On my way to work, both my traction control light and check engine light came on??? Anyone have this same problem??
I have a 2017 Tacoma SR5 like yours. Currently riding on a set of Laufeen X-Fit AT tires in 245 75R-16 (orig size). I really like these tires.. worked great on my 2009 Tacoma.
Currently riding on a set of Laufenn X-Fit AT P245/75R16 stock size on my 2017 Tacoma SR5. These tire worked well on my 2009 Tacoma... get for snow and state gameland roads here in NE Pennsylvania. I'm guessing you will need bigger more aggressive tires for sand.
Here a quick question:
If you have one of the O2 sensors going bad... should you replace all of them?? Had this happen with my 02 Tundra. I replaced one, then the others started to go.
Yes.. go easy on the anti-seize.
My local Toyota dealer is right on my home from work. I always get OEM filters from them. Currently, I am using a Toyota TRD oil filter. It's a tad heavier in construction and seems to trap more nasty stuff during the 8-9000 miles the oil is in the engine. I have also seen Toyota OEM filters...
Scotty Kilmer has a great basic drum brake video. The Gen 2 and 3 Tacomas are pretty much the same. I replaced the shoes and hardware in my 2009 Tacoma a few years back... pain in the butt, however, doable if your mechanically inclined.
Drinking a few beers with my son and he was telling me how he would like to get his own place/ future plans etc..
Just mentioned to him adding stuff to your truck is fun.. however, it is all about priorities!! TacoTruck2019 is correct!!
