I think this noticed applies to rust-belt states in the NE part of the United States. If Reno has nasty winters this could apply.

As long as the oil meets the specs. of the engine you will be fine. I believe Walmart and Amazon have Warren mfg. supply them with oil. Same company that makes MAG1. I ran Walmart 5w-30 Synthetic in my 2011 GMC Canyon and never had any issues. Seemed to work great in that truck.

Yes... Change your oil at every other service light. My 2017 Tacoma gets fresh oil and a TRD oil filter about every 8-9000 miles. If you are using a quality Synthetic 0w20 oil that meets Toyota specs you are good to go!! I'm using Shell Rotella Gas Truck 0w-20 with great results.
