Yea. Just popped out the grill to get really good access. Then, I just undid the screws, and swapped them. They're a direct OEM replacement.

The problem is the gear ratio. Even stock, it holds gears too long. It wastes fuel and doesn't make more power. On top of that, the ratio paired with the electronic overdrive transmission constantly changes gears unnecessarily, for the sake of emissions. Toyota screwed up, setting the Tacoma up...

Plus, you can probably talk them down a lot more since lots are begging people to buy vehicles right now. Might be able to get a Pro for the price of an SR5.

Really? Why did it cost 8k for 4.88s? I just had mine done for just over 2k total.

Personally, I'd just turn it in. Then buy a new Tacoma. You'd have a new warrantied 2020, plus you could opt for newer options. I've leased before. Never again. You're only paying the dealership for what you will not own.

Well, yesterday I washed, waxed, and detailed the wife's 4runner. Today, I'm picking up my Taco from the local off road shop. Can't wait to feel the difference since regearing.

It is. You're probably better off to buy a Hilux in Europe, then import it to the US, and have it made emission compliant. About the same price, and you have a real diesel Hilux. There is a guy on base here that has a real Prado. Very cool.
