try flushing trans fluid and new filter could just be gummy old fluid . my transit van was slipping at cold start . had trans serviced at a good transmission shop and now its fine 90k on it . Welcome come aboard!

U can use a c- clamp to squish the piston too.

YouTube is your friend .:) front pad change is pretty easy pull both front wheels but do one side at a time so you can look at other side if u have any dout on how it goes back together and take pictures first . just get a good wire coat hanger to hang the caliper from the spring if u change rotors

if your down to 1mm you've been metal on metal for a while!! usually when i change pads there is at least an 1/8 or 5/32 's left on the pads and it just is at sensor. You can tell to by how far the pedal is dropping too!

love my '16 turdy sport! But I do miss my 03 tundra had 3 inch cat back and a 3 chamber flowmaster single and kept the torque upand k&n air filter .And the Taco is just a tad smaller ur right . I had an Addco 1-1/8"sway bar it really tightened up the tundra plus I had 18' s w 285-60-18 on it.:)...
