Thanks to all on the advice of disconnecting my battery. Lucky me, I didn't loose any settings on anything. Probably 'cause it wasn't disconnected for a long time - 'bout an hour. Oh yea, tweeters sound great.

Wonder how the stock Tacoma filter does as compared to others.

Getting ready to install tweeters. Most directions have disconnecting battery first to avoid possibly triggering air bags at the pillar when removing. I'm sure the radio presets will be lost, but easy to re-program. Any other areas I should be concerned with?

I have remote start on three of my vehicles, but they are all auto trans. It seems to me that you would have to be in neutral for a standard trans to work. Otherwise, off she goes. :eek:

Got the instructions for the tweeter install from Crutchfield. They are not showing the removal of the pillar covers, just prying up the covers of the tweeters. Is this practical and do I really need to remove the pillar covers as many youtube videos are showing? Thanks for any insight into...

Just curious about the use of a 6x9 three way in the doors. Already have the Kicker tweeter in the dash, so more tweeters? or just a bass 6x9, or what are the options?

Personally, that does not look very secure to me and potentially scratching up things like B-Man said. I have bikes and depending on the vehicle (like my truck) I would use the rack style that fits in your hitch receiver. Easy to use.

Yep, still got them. How about $ 95.00, but shipping might be a bit much depending where you are. I'm in Oregon.

Welcome too. Like Scott, I can't help on the wiring question, but I would ask at a stealership if there is one close enough for convenience.

So it looks like most of it is just cosmetic. I can do that myself.

I agree with JDC. Especially with salt roads in your area. Can't be too cautious . Well worth the investment. I did minor undercoat, but don't have the severe weather here. Also helps with some sound deadening.
