Toyota does not give a Spare Tailgate Key

Unless something has changed, or it varies between models, the fob key will not work in the tailgate lock.

What are they going to do to fix it?

    Worst Rated Mid-Sized truck??

If you want to avoid cheap parts you're going to have to drive that '02 for the rest of your life, because every manufacturer uses cheap parts nowadays. What you say is odd though. Every time I've taken my 2016 to the dealer, whether it be for routine maintenance or anything else, it's always...

Throttle surge on 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport.

Those are definitely legitimate concerns. I wouldn't worry too much though. Many of the problems the current model is having actually go back to the previous generation Tacoma. Vibrations, shudders, axle wrap, surging and lunging are all things that previous model owners discuss, but the resale...

Throttle surge on 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport.

First they tell you it's operating normally, and then they tell you it's a common problem and Toyota is working on a fix. It's all bs. If there is a fix it will probably be years away.

Throttle surge on 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport.

Please let us know what you find out. I feel like the brake pressure thing is worse as it gets warmer outside, which makes me think it could have something to do with driveline bind.

I took mine to the dealer, but of course they couldn't recreate it.

I have that one. Does it feel like your brake pedal loses pressure when this happens?

There's a TSB to correct this. Call your dealer.

Clear plastic over gauge cluster scratches. Looks like crap after first time detailing.

It may be a softer plastic, but good cleaning technique will prevent scratches.

Clear plastic over gauge cluster scratches. Looks like crap after first time detailing.

I'm sure the plastic in your other vehicles is no different than what is in Tacomas. The only thing that could have scratched it is abrasive material being dragged across it, especially if too much pressure is applied. Even a MF detailing cloth has to be used lightly. A dry paper towel or...

By the way, a small California Duster is probably the best thing for dusting the interior. You can use them dry without scratching.

Clear plastic over gauge cluster scratches. Looks like crap after first time detailing.

Was your MF cloth dry? You need some kind of lubricant or else dust and debris are going to scratch. PlastX should correct your scratches.

Why not just test drive both? I used to live in a Seattle and I think you'll be fine with either transmission.
