They actually checked my brakes a few months ago for a different issue and they were fine. Transmission fluid was good too. I had the transmission TSB performed recently, but it didn't make a difference with this issue.

Nobody else gets the lunging as their truck is coming to a stop?

My truck often downshift hard as I'm coming to a stop. When it does my brakes seem to lose pressure for a split second and the pedal wants to slam to the floor. Is anybody else experiencing this? Any ideas what it could be? Engine brake?

When do you feel the vibration? I was getting a vibration when braking that I felt through the seat, steering wheel, and floor. It was fixed with shims between the rear axle and leaf springs.

I've had the hard downshift when stopping since I got my truck. It seems to only happen going from second to first, and it causes the brakes to feel inconsistent. Sometimes I think it may all be due to axle wrap though.

I run into problems when the snow becomes patchy on the streets. Most pavement will be too dry to keep 4 hi engaged, but then I may come up to an intersection where the snow is piled up from the plows. I'll switch into 4 hi as I roll to the stop sign/stop light, come to a stop, and then slowly...

Does your truck go into 4 hi immediately? The snow usually causes a delay in my transfer case when shifting into 4 hi.

In the extreme cold it's usually around 14 to 17 in town. Warmer weather I usually get around 18 to 20 in town.

30 minutes is way too long. It's -1 currently and my truck took less than 10 minutes of idling to reach temp.

Get the extended warranty if you haven't already. There are too many components in modern vehicles not to, especially with added accessories and complex four wheel drive systems.

Unfortunately the TSB still hasn't been issued, but I was told by a service advisor and mechanic two days ago that Toyota sent out an advisory stating that the TSB will involve replacing the door seals.

This is exactly what I want to do with my truck, but I have deceleration vibration. I know a lift will make it worse.
