    WHO NAMES THEIR TRUCK?

Ok. I know this is probably a silly question, but I have a tradition of naming my vehicles (sort of like old, faithful horses). The nickname I've chosen for my recent "mount" is Perseus. (I even went so far as to name the female computer voice Andromeda, in keeping w/the Perseus theme.) What...

Where do you Put your phone

Funny you should ask that question. (I answered the same question in another thread.) I recently owed a Kia Soul (that I recently traded in for a 2017 Tacoma SR5) that had a unique cell phone holder that was designed to fit into the cup holder. I stuffed the cell phone holder into the cup well...

    Hard downshifting/sloppy brakes

I (reluctantly) bought the 100k coverage too. Not sure if I'll need it, but w/all the bells and whistles on this vehicle (the most software-laden I've ever owned) I figured it was the right thing to do.

    What's Your Tacoma's MPG

14.35 mpg for a 2011?? Holy smoke! You must have something else going on there. (I've also got a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500, and it gets - at best - 14 mpg, but that's a 5.9L.) I've got the 3.5L in my Taco and just broke (if I'm to believe the truck computer) 25 mpg on an out-of-state trip (mostly...

2017 Yota Limited 4 door 4x4 is garbage

OK, I just got a software update for the transmission. Does anyone know what the update specifically does? (Should have asked at the dealer, but I forgot.)

2017 Yota Limited 4 door 4x4 is garbage

I just bought a 2017 SR5 full cab long bed in November, and I don't have any complaints so far. In fact, I have a 4 x 4 with a V6 and I'm getting around 22 miles per gallon after only 2300 miles. Considering engines aren't really broken in until about 5000 miles, I think that's pretty darn...

    Hard downshifting/sloppy brakes

Interesting thread. I noticed mine downshifts hard as I'm coming to a stop, but I don't detect any fading in the brakes. I have a 2017 SR5 with only 2300 miles on it so far. I remember the days when transmissions didn't need software updates! I'll have to check on that.

    What's Your Tacoma's MPG

Regardless of what the manual says, it takes about 5000 miles to truly break in an engine. During that time, you'll get low gas mileage. I have a 2017 SR5, and I'm averaging about 21 mpg. Actually, that's not too bad considering I only have about 2100 miles on it. Once the engine is broken...

    BLUETOOTH DROPOUT

Thanks. Seems to be working ok now. Each time I go for service, I inquire about a S/W update. I'll keep that in mind.

    iPhone location 2016

Actually, if you're willing to spend a few bucks, you could just buy that accessory from Kia parts and do what I did.

    iPhone location 2016

Funny you should ask that question. I recently owed a Kia Soul (that I recently traded in for a 2017 Tacoma SR5) that had a unique cell phone holder that was designed to fit into the cup holder. I stuffed the cell phone holder into the cup well in my console and it works just fine, with the...

    BLUETOOTH DROPOUT

Yep, I plan to do that. I just received a notification that iOS 10.2 came out, so I'm glad I didn't waste my time telling the phone again until I updated my devices. Hopefully, that will fix the problem. Thanks for replying!

    BLUETOOTH DROPOUT

I just bought a 2017 Tacoma with the Entune Plus audio system, and I have an iPhone 6+ that I connected to it via Bluetooth. For no apparent reason, while I'm talking on the phone, the system just drops the phone, as if it isn't even paired. The only way to get it back is to literally power...
