I'm debating replacing a carrier bearing and U-joints when I (eventually) put an OME kit on my '05 (150k+ miles) and was wondering... From a bit a reading on the process, it looks like a few folks take their joints and driveshaft to be balanced? What necessitates a rebalancing of the driveshaft...

To anyone in the Sacto area... When I bought my Taco OR in '05, I (like an idiot) purchased nerf bars from the dealer. Those bars were removed last week and are available. No dents, no major scratches; road facing side does have some road grime, but prelim cleaning with Simple Green removed it...

Alright, so it's likely safe to assume that the numbers referenced are relative to any of the 6 lug variants. Naturally, I'll message them to confirm, but wanted to poke the bushes here to see if I was of my rocker, or whether it was a legitimate question. Thanks!

Using the OME Suspension Kit tool on their website, you select year, make, and model of vehicle (but don't select the submodel, like SR5/PreRunner/4x4/etc.). So, for my '05 (Prerunner), the "recommended kit" states that it'll give 55mm lift in the front, and 50mm in the rear. What I wonder is...

Oh yeah, they should still be good then. I have to wonder if my overzealous shock replacements in the past have been simply chasing a better ride LOL.

Good to know! In "the old days", I don't think I ever went over 50k on a set LOL.

I, like many, simply Googled "tacoma forum". Tacoma World, while a trove of info, is such a mess to navigate, with 300 different forums, subforums, overlapping subject areas... Ridiculous.. Not to mention, it seemed like you needed to be part of the good ol' boys club in order to get an answer...

Yeah the only chrome is the rear bumper and front grille. The plastic step part of the bumper and the original side steps were also pretty annoying (another reason I replaced the nerf bars I put on when I bought it, as they were pretty useless at the height they sat), so I'll likely just go...

New member here, currently in northern California. I migrated here from Tacoma World, as I couldn't seem to find answers to questions and the structure of their forum is atrocious (almost seems like the areas of division were an afterthought, versus being thought of during the design process)...

These wheels are sexy! Just put a set on my superwhite '05, and just love them.

I'll go with it needing new pads in the leaf springs. After doing this, my '05 stopped. Edit: just saw the other replies, disregard.
