a word about the 2.7L 2TR-FE engine (M/T) and economy

My friend has been snapping pics of the MPG his RAM has been getting, and I was pretty impressed to finally see him get to 20mpg on his readout. now, how reliable the Dodge truck's calculations are, i don't know. but i thought to myself, "damn, i should B doing waaaay better than I am w/my...

    Bed Stiffeners

Did you think you really needed them for how the truck is used? Unless you have a camper top, or rack mounted on the bed rails, yeah I could see they would help. I've seen many load up their trucks with everything from bed stiffeners to big ass tires, and 6'' lift kits to re-gearing, and never...

    Bigger tires, locking front diff

Imo, just that amount of tire lift is useless.....it's not enough to make a real difference, plus larger tires throw off your speedo reading, and hurt fuel economy. You gotta start with at least 2'' to accomplish anything. Just put on a set of good of stock size tires with the snow flake symbol...

    Bigger tires, locking front diff

Ahh…But a dirt bike doesn’t get three people into Colorado elk hunting country in the snow. Tires are only 30.6 inch now, and I am hoping to gain maybe 1/2” to 1” more clearance with existing stock suspension. Taco Pro already has 3” lift from the factory. I’m not looking for more than that b

    Bigger tires, locking front diff

Let's play a game of Lift with "Bigger Tires" Say you pay big $$ for some 40" tires (outside diameter). Your current tires are about 34" (outside diameter). Cool a tire that is 6" bigger. Ahhhhh, but wait.............you don't get all 6" below the axle. Only half of that is below the axle...

    Bigger tires, locking front diff

I purchased a low mileage 2015 TRD Pro last year and installed a front bumper with skid protection and very improved approach angle with a winch. I also installed a higher clearance rear bumper and substantial rock sliders. I took it on its first serious off road trip over Memorial Day. It is a...

    Wheels not seating properly

I’ve got a 2016 tacoma sr5 and I recently purchased some used wheels and tires however when I went to install them I noticed I can’t get them to sit flush without tightening the lug nuts. After tightening in a star pattern is seats properly but the wheel bore has indentations upon removal. Not...

    E.D.T.... every darned time

Well....tell you what you could do. Center the steering wheel as you deem correct. Tie it down so it can't turn or shift. Lift the front of the truck, then place on a pair of jack stands. Use two wrenches, adjust those tie rods so you are happy. Put it back on the ground and take it for a...

? Where is the Gen1 Taco traffic at ?

i think that PER MILE, yours is leaps and bounds above at this point in the here and now and likely even per year, should you include the initial outlay MSRP as that guy in Colorado appears to have done with his sheet i don't think he has all that many miles on his rig at 26 years, slightly over...
