21 Tacoma Shaking (Need help diagnosing)

I've heard similar from others that installed those 3'' rc lift kits without changing to new a arms to correct the geometry back to stock. If you don't, you get vibrations at various speeds. Installing larger wheels isn't the wisest thing to do either. I've been told more than once to leave...

Seeking Advice on Tacoma Upgrades for Off-Roading

Generally, lift kits will create more real problems with suspension and drivetrains than the perceived solutions. Drive it, Use it...... then you'll know if anything is really needed.

Seeking Advice on Tacoma Upgrades for Off-Roading

Depends where/what your off-roading is. These trucks are already very capable without a whole lot done to them when driving on woods roads. If going rock crawling thats a whole other ball game. My gen3 sr5 is bone stock, and I've had no issues getting to my favorite fishing spots I couldn't...

    Bed Stiffeners

Did you think you really needed them for how the truck is used? Unless you have a camper top, or rack mounted on the bed rails, yeah I could see they would help. I've seen many load up their trucks with everything from bed stiffeners to big ass tires, and 6'' lift kits to re-gearing, and never...

How often do you park beside another Tacoma….

Makin my rounds all over town today and spotted this SuperWhite gen2 taco. I'm not into the big tires and lift kits these days but the 3" lift and chrome wheels was worth taking some pictures. Good looking rig.

How often do you park beside another Tacoma….

Good lookin' rig TexasBigBlue! I'm a chrome guy myself! I just turned 47 a few weeks ago but I've always liked the classic old school look of chrome! I'll take chrome rims over black rims any day! I like black trucks and cars but I gotta have some chrome on that sucker! Chrome grille, chrome...

How often do you park beside another Tacoma….

So my days of monster tires and lift kits expired about 30 years ago but the owner of this gen2 SR5 did it right. Just a little 1" or 2 inch lift kit and mildly bigger tires is in good taste for me. The chrome rear chrome bumper and running boards accent the MidnightBlack exterior, with a good...

So I have a 1996 Tacoma 3rzfe 4x4.My rear leaf springs are sagging and broken.I want to upgrade to a new 3"lift in the back but I am told that between v6 and 4cyl. Models the lenght of the leaf springs are different. Can someone clarify this for me and even maybe point me in the right direction...

    2wd lift kit

See that’s what I’ve seen for 2wd lifts or leveling kits as well are spacer lifts and I’m trying to avoid those all together. What’s confusing to me is both 4wd and 2wd suspensions look the same besides the cv axles so I don’t understand why for example the RC 3.5” lift isn’t classified to go on...

    2wd lift kit

Understand that with some 2 wd lift kits all you get are spacers to provide lift in the front. These really ruin a lot of ride and handling qualities.

    Potential new Taco owner...

Welcome scott, congrats on the new truck. As far as fuel mileage...i would think thats very realistic for a 2wd. I have a 2020 all stock sr5 4x4 with the v6, its gets 22-23 average doing 50-60 mph on the secondary highway roads here. I've not seen worse than 17 city. Its when you add big heavy...

    Love or hate leveling kits

I traded my lifted Jeep Wrangler for a 2021 Taco TRD offroad about 2 months ago. I would like to lift the truck up just a bit. The leveling kit route looks appealing to me, not only for the price, but also because I wouldn't actually mind keeping the stock suspension. The only thing I want to...

What is the best website to buy a lift from?

Hello! Was just wondering what websites have the best prices on lift kits? I’m looking at Bilstein or Eibach for lift brands. Thanks!

    New 2021 white Taco

If you spend the money on new UCA and gears they are fine. What happens is people will put a 3” spacer lift and 33’s E rated tires on them. Kills the ride and bogs it down. If you do King, Fox, bilstein, OME kits and swap the UCA the ride is much improved over stock. Put 4:56 or 4:88 gears with...

Toyota dealership suspension vs third party

Time to upgrade my 2019 trd sport suspension for moderate off roading. I want a 3 inch lift but like the idea of a proper suspension kit vs just some spacers. Dealership quoted $2k for Bilstein pro and $3k for the Fox. I dont know much about suspension so Im not sure if its better to buy parts...

    Lift

You shouldn't need to change anything with a 3" or less lift. Maybe do an alignment after. 3" or smaller is usually just a bolt on.
