I change mine everytime the service light comes on the dash. For me, that's every 4500-5000 miles. I use a quality 0w-20 and a OEM Toyota filter

Yes... The cross-over pipe was redesign or modified twice in an effort to solve this problem.

True!! Talked to the service/parts guy.. Toyota updated the cross-over pipe and o-rings twice (two different part number revisions). Maybe they will issue a recall?? Only time will tell.

Just got my truck back from the dealer. New cross-over pipe and o-ring gaskets. The cab had to be lifted off the frame to get access to this part. In all $1000 in total...

Well... I got the truck back today. Took three days and they had to lift up the cab to acess the back of the engine to replace the plastic cross-over and the o-ring seals Since the trick had 103,000 miles on it, I also had the serpentine drive belt replaced too. Total bill was 1000 bucks...

Once I retire in a few years, I want to go farther up into Quebec. I currently fish White Lake, Ontario, just west of Ottawa. It's a 450 mile trip from my home in NE Pennsylvania.

I feel the same way. Just could not get it done today. The dealer did not have one of the o-rings in the replacement part kit??? Kinda pisses me off that the truck is down another day. However, I want it fixed right since I will be traveling p north to Ontario a few times this summer.

My 2017 Tacoma is at the dealer due to a leaking bypass pipe.

Dropped of my 2017 Tacoma 3.5l V-6 at the local dealer coolant cross-over pipe/gasket under the intake manifold is leaking coolant. Noticed this while adding Toyota OEM running boards/nerf bars to my truck.

Anyone have this problem?? My 2017 Tacoma SR5 is at the local dealer waiting for repair. I was wondering if this is a common problem??

The local dealer mentioned this too. They just advised I will need to purchase or reprogram the TPS sensors.

54 bucks sounds fair. I change mine myself for around 40 bucks for oil and filter. I believe the local dealer near me is charging 100 bucks for this service

I was thinking the same thing. You would think they would just bolt right up. The 2017 and 2021 Tacoma looks almost identical.

I owned a 2002 Tundra with the 4.7 l V-8. I just changed the oil and filter at 1/2 the factory recommendations. Put over 250,000 trouble-free miles on that truck. The extra money spent on oil and filters sure beats an engine replacement. With the the availability and cost of new trucks and...

Quality synthetic 0w-20 and a Toyota filter and drain plug washer every 4,500 or 5000 miles. Whenever the service light comes on.
