Going to go trailing and want to know if anyone has any experience with handhelds as opposed to CB radios while they are hitting trails?

I was set on a pair of nfab nerf bars for my 2016 dcb sport but now I'm not sure because a buddy of mine pointed out that the steps could get stuck on rocks. So now I can't decide between nerf or sliders?? Anyone have any advice? It's not gonna be a mall crawler, I'm going to use it

You have to use the steering wheel controls to scroll through the dash menu until you get to the music. It won't show up on the radio screen but it lets you control it on the dash screen
Does anyone know some good trails in the San Diego area? Or has anyone been to glamis with their Tacoma? I want to go but the sand dunes seem to be more favorable for side by sides like a rzr
Lol got a little crazy for a minute.
I'm gonna take on some trails and go to glamis with it every so often. I know The right thing to do should is the coil overs and upper control arms but I hate to spend the money when 80% of the time I'm just going to be driving it around town.
