Paint stock skid plate on 2018 TRD OR

Thanks for the insights. I definitely plan to use it for light off road...camp grounds, Boy Scout outings, fishing, and out of the way shooting ranges. I will plan to use rattle can spray paint, and the more I think about it, darker is better!

Paint stock skid plate on 2018 TRD OR

I have a cement 2018 TRD Off Road and want to paint my stock skid plate a similar cement gray color. The stock black one doesn’t stand out and blends in to the shadows below. I also don’t want to spend $200 for a TRD or after market skid plate. I plan to do it right...sand, prime and paint...

    Duratrec or BFG

I’m considering the Falken Wildpeak AT3W 265/70R16 for my 2018 TRD off road when I replace the kevlars. Anyone have experience with the Falkens? Great reviews and the price is right!

    Chrome vs black wheels

Mine are both...stock OEM TRD off-road rims! Don’t think I’ll ever change these...

    New Tacoma owner from Boston.

Welcome to the forum and congrats...love that color! I’m also a first time Tacoma owner, and the more folks I meet that own Tacos reinforce my decision to choose a Tacoma over a Colorado.

Just finished my first 3 ”add-ons”...

Thanks OR17TRD...I like the Pro grill a lot, but don’t dislike the current grill enough to swap it out. The only reason I added the tube steps is because my wife is 5’ 1” and needs them to get in and out (especially in a dress and heels). I’m 6’ and don’t need them myself. [emoji106]

Just finished my first 3 ”add-ons”...

I feel odd calling them mods...more like add-ons to my 2018 Tacoma TRD Off-Road in cement gray. First pic is stock the day we picked it out at the dealer. The first add-on was my Rugged Premium Trifold Hardtop tonneau cover. Next, WeatherTech in-channel vent visors. Finally, black 5” oval...

    Toyota OEM Nerf Bars

Can anyone comment on the quality of Toyota’s OEM 5-in oval tube steps (black) w/ top step pads as compared to the various aftermarket products out there? I know they’re expensive at $439, but are they a quality product that will last? Appreciate y’alls opinion...thanks! NTD

Off-road or sport?? Buying a new one

Agree w/ cruzjjcruz...I bought the OR and bought a Rugged Premium trifold hardtop cover. Most brand name covers are better than the OEM covers (as I’ve heard from others on this forum), and installation is not difficult. To me, the OR is more versatile and rugged than the Sport, and includes...

I’m with you...I just crested 200 miles. Just installed a trifold hard cover and WeatherTech in-channel window visors last night. This weekend the tube steps will go on...pics will be out soon. Enjoy your truck!

Thanks Bogunn! I pulled the trigger on a Rugged Premium Tri-fold Hardtop cover. It looks very durable, easy to install, and has a LED light on the inside. I should have it installed before the weekend, and I’ll be sure to post a few pics. Appreciate the advice! NTD

Thanks Bogunn! Re the tonneau, I’m looking primarily for a trifold, but can’t decide between a hard top or a canvas top with embedded hard panels. I want to keep the price below $800 and durability & protection from H2O are important. You got one?

Hello all! Long time Toyota owner, but got my first Tacoma last week—2018 TRD Off-Road. Wifey bought it for me as a gift after retiring from the Army after 30 years. Looking forward to learning from you all. Right now I’m researching hard-top tonneau covers...any recommendations?
