AC smells like gas

Occasionally, I get the smell of gas when I have the AC on. Does anyone have any clue to this problem?
 
This happened in my moms old car... Never could figure out the problem, it went to the dealer and a couple different shops my family has always used, no one could figure it out...
 
Some people say it's the charcoal canister, fuel tank leak, fuel tank damper, loose or defectives gas cap... Not sure, but I'll start with the gas cap and go on from there.
