Antifreeze

Anyone else’s 2nd gen v6 use a little antifreeze? I’m no mechanic but I always thought anytime you lose some from the reservoir it was a bad thing?

Where's it leaking from? You don't strike me as the kind of guy driving around smelling like coolant/slinging on the hood. [emoji4]

It's just a drop or two coming from the lower radiator hose. I've left it as is because it isn't bad yet and I was seeing if it was actually leaking or a fluke because it's a pain to get to. The supercharger belt drive needs to come off.

The right outlet of the coolant manifold:

I agree. I would just keep an eye on it too [emoji16]

My 2004 WRX the upper radiator hose was really close to one of the pullies and when the hose got older and expanded the pully started touching it. Poor design. I didn’t know until white smoke started bellowing out of the hood. The guy next to me yells hey your cars on fire. Yeah thanks bud I can see that. SMH.
The cut hose was just spraying coolant all over the engine. Kept an eye on the engine temp and drove it smoking like that to the closest auto parts store. Bought a $15 hose and a bottle of coolant fixed it in 5 min. Car smelled like burnt coolant for a few weeks after that.

The only time I ever had that happen was on an old Bronco. You can smell the burnt coolant for days.

Yeah. That’s a lot of hassle. I’d just keep an eye on it too.

You can see a little crust where the hose meets the outlet:

I guess I was smart enough to leave the clamp pointed in a direction that can be accessed:

It drips on the belt and gets thrown onto the hood:
