Any thoughts on this 5.3l swap?

I’d do it if there was a bolt in kit. A few on XRU have done it when trying to make power because the 4.0 is weak garbage.

The 4.0 isn't too weak. I've raced my buddy's 5.3 silverado and beat him.

It’s weak. Start trying to make power and it will designate. Also a Silverado is a heavier truck.

Yes 5.3 and 5.7. The electronics is where Chevrolet is lacking badly

I like the 4.0 only for its reliability, otherwise I agree, it has no balls.
The Tacoma’s derive a motor with more power

Toyota did it. I'm sure it's pretty possible with the Toyota tranny and ECU.
