I thought this was pretty cool, has anyone on this forum done a v8 swap on their 2nd gens?
The 4.0 isn't too weak. I've raced my buddy's 5.3 silverado and beat him.I’d do it if there was a bolt in kit. A few on XRU have done it when trying to make power because the 4.0 is weak garbage.

They call them Toilets (toy-let’s) for a reasonIf I was going to RUIN my Tacoma with an engine swap it sure as hell wouldn't be with Chevy/GM garbage.
Yes 5.3 and 5.7. The electronics is where Chevrolet is lacking badlyThe 5.3 is a good, dependable motor.
Damn.. what year?4.0, I don't know how reliable. Mine has a hole in the block, and ONLY 170,000. [emoji37]don't let girlfriend's drive!
I am thinking about the Toyota 5.7 swap...just thinking...no smog where I live in Oregon and so far it looks a bit complicated, but I might try...I happened across a wrecked Tundra with 45k on the clock.
Sounds like operator error4.0, I don't know how reliable. Mine has a hole in the block, and ONLY 170,000. [emoji37]don't let girlfriend's drive!
