L4 vrs V-6 Real World MPG

I have a double cab prerunner and i get 19mph all around, 20mph sometimes.

So the general response I'm hearing is, go with the v-6....... driven gently, mpg numbers are quite close to the 4 banger, but the power/torque of the v-6 is noticeable compared to the L4.

The left over 13's I'm finding are pretty much discounted about $650 less than a new 2014 (the Entune 2014 upgrade is a $680 cost....which is a must take item from Toyota)(can't opt out of the Entune crap) So I guess a one year newer truck is worth the $650 over a year old model.

Whats this entune crap?

I used to get 18mpg but I don't know what happened.
I'm beginning to think something happened and started to make my brakes drag a little bit, any thoughts?

Got less than 2000 miles and have yet to see 19 mpg. I did get 18.4 driving hwy at 70 mph once. Short trips in cold weather 13-15 mpg. ( Access Cab, V6, auto, 4wd....driving in 2wd)

That seems a little low. Surely you have mods?

Performance is priority for me.
My SR5 DC 4.0 is stock
My mileage will vary with what I ask of her:
Take me to work 21 MPG.
Go to Snowshoe, WV 18 MPG.
Haul 1000 pounds 18 MPG.
4x4 in snow 17 MPG.
Tow my boat 15 MPG.

She gets all those done without complaint. Pay for performance.

Stock suspension, and tires. Truck only has about 2000 miles on it, hoping it gets a couple per gal better with time. I drive very light-footed, as far as acceleration goes as well.

I drive heavy footed and i get 19mpg, but i also have 62000 miles on it.

Lifted and bigger tires 2.7L 4x4 access cab. Averaged 19 in the winter and now getting 20-21 average

My 4 cyl averages 19 mpg
