Roof rack strength

I’m getting a new Hobie 12’ pedal kayak and am planning on carrying it on my roof rack. I assume the rack will be strong enough to hold the 10.5 foot kayak.
Am I correct?

Yes it can. I just wouldn’t place too much tension on the straps. I would look into purchasing the kayak racks too. Or a rear hitch attachment for lengthy kayak. I can place 2 kayaks on my roof rack with no problem and the other 2 kayaks of the kids in the bed of truck. One strap on top of kayaks on top of truck with front and rear ties to front and rear tow hooks.
