Trailer hitch wiring

I just added a Curt hitch to my 17 SR 4x4.
I ordered a wiring kit also.
My question is there is a open connector right behind the hitch on the underside of the bed. Aslo with the open connector by the license plate.
Is there not a oem wiring harness available????
Thanks

The trailer will connect into the provided wiring if you have the tow package on your truck. If the trailer lights have different wire connection then you’ll just need an adaptor like this: 4488115F-D556-4FE8-A4A7-D9F63613083C.jpeg

There are OEM connectors. But you’ll pay for it. I can’t say offhand but I’d guess at least $180+. The Curt plug and play harness reviews highly and is cheap. Is this the one you bought?

If you don’t want a harness dangling from your bumper and want to use the OEM slot for the connector you should be able to splice it in by using any OEM fit trailer bumper plug. You’d still save $100 or more probably.
Or you can call any dealership or go to parts.toyota.com and order the OEM harness if you don’t care to drop the cash.....
