My 2nd Gen makes a sucking noise on startup and shutdown from under the hood. Sounds exactly like air is being sucked in somewhere and then stops. Anyone else have this issue? No driving issues or startup issues.

Do u have a 4cyl?

Or do u have the v6 and is it a 2012 or newer?

Have you modded anything under the hood?

Has it always done it? Because that sounds like your secondary air injection pump.
 
No mods. 2.7l 2015. Not causing any issues and only does it actually when I start it up. After it runs for a minute or so in idle it sounds like something sucks in a big gulp of air then stops.

Most likely the air injection pump.... Get a video, maybe someone who has one can tell u if it sounds "normal" or if it's failing.

I don't have one so can't tell good vs bad.

Looking ahead for possible future drama....

You know the truck will do an emissions self check approx 4/5 hours after it's been parked and this activates the evap pump and will sound like a fuel pump right?
