New (to me) 2016 Tacoma - A few issues

I just changed out the battery on my 19. What started me looking was I was getting moisture on top of the battery by the vent caps. Checked it and it was only holding 12.2 volts. Hadn't given me any problems starting or anything else, just figured I'd take care of it before winter got here.

    Computer

I work part time at Advance Auto and we've had pretty good service from 1 800 ECM. That's the name of the company. If you can't find them let me know and I'll get the info from work.

    Transmission fluid

Maybe for the track the nitrogen has some benefit but I'm very suspect of any actual benefit for street use other than someone making a buck. According to the TPS my tire pressure varries the same no matter what's in them.

    Gas millage

Normal day to day driving in warm weather I get 22 on my SR5 double cab 2wd. On longer trips Ive seen 24/25. Colder weather I get 20.

    Transmission fluid

Speaking of derailing the thread, I'll say this then shut up. We had one of the youngins that I work with convinced that he had to put winter air in his tires for the coming cold weather, come spring he needed to change it out for summer air. It took him a week to catch on.

    Transmission fluid

Have a question for those more knowledgeable about this than me. When servicing the auto trans in our tacos is it better to use a strictly WS fluid or one that meets several different standards including WS?

    Nascar

I don't know about the seat colors, never heard that one before. I've checked out the seating when watching on TV, there's no doubt that attendence is down with the possible exception of a few races. Attendence at the truck races and Xfinity is really bad.

    2019 2.7 Cold Start Rattle

Well, let me say right off the top, I'm not a pro. That being said I wouldn't just keep driving it and not do anything. If you're waiting on Toyota to catch it it will be when you're engine blows and you need a new one. Next oil change I'd run a bottle of flush thru the engine to clean out...

The problem with tech equipment, computers, cell phones, tablets, gaming systems, hell anything that has a tech oriented feature, is the day you buy it it is obsolete. Tech is advancing so fast that's what is the latest and greatest today is old news tomorrow. I was considering getting a new...

    2019 2.7 Cold Start Rattle

Whenever you're holding accelerator to the floor it does something in the computer that won't let it start, if I was more computer savvy I'd be able to explain it. It's kinda like the old carbureted engines, if you flooded it, hold the throttle wide open and crank to clear. I first heard about...

I threw my computer away a couple of years ago, it was beyond being useful. Between it being outdated and our lousy internet service here it was just a PITA. I've got security on my phone and tablet and that's all I've used for a couple of years now and truthfully haven't missed the computer at...

    2019 2.7 Cold Start Rattle

By pushing accelerator to floor and cranking you're basically pre oiling before you're letting the engine fire. You're getting the oil to circulate ahead of starting the engine, granted it's not a complete pre oil but enough to start bringing the pressure up. I don't know if Toyota has them or...

    2019 2.7 Cold Start Rattle

My guess it has to do with you're VVT. Try holding accelerator to floor and cranking a have dozen rotations or so then let off accelerator and it will start, and hopefully no rattle. You might try some engine flush on you're next oil change to see if that helps. Even though you're using the...

I just had to take a refresher course at work on internet security and creating secure passwords. One of the first things they tell you is "never" right down you're password. Then on into the course they tell you how to create a secure password. Ain't no F'n way I could remember a password like...

Gen2 Taco cabin filter... Yota shop wants 50$ to replace it

What gets me is some of the shops will pull it out when you're in for an oil change, take it and show customer it's so dirty and needs replaced, then charge full labor and marked up price for a new one. Ya already pulled it out for no charge, didn't ask for it to be checked now ya want paid to...
